All extra credit for the 4th Nine weeks must be turned in by Friday, May 15, 2020.
No extra credit assignments will be accepted after that date.
POSTED 3/20/20: Due to current school closures, we're going to have to get creative with the way we complete and turn in these assignments. :) Here are some options for completing/submitting extra credit while you're at home.
EMAIL: Print out what you need to complete your assignment (root word templates, Insta template, etc.) If you're doing a poster or a crossword, you can do that on regular computer paper. Complete your assignment, then scan it back into your computer OR take a picture with your phone. If you're doing a Current Events Article, you can type your work in a Word document if you don't want to hand-write it on a template. Email any scanned/photographed work or Word documents to me at [email protected] with "Extra Credit Work" as the subject line. I'll confirm with you that I receive it, and then you're all set! :)
GOOGLE DRIVE: You can also use your Google Drive account to create documents or slides presentations to share with me. I believe you can also put scanned pictures of completed work in one of these and share with me if that's easier than email. Again, share any extra credit Google work with me at [email protected] and title your slides or document "Extra Credit Work."I'll confirm with you that I receive it, and then you're all set! :)
MENU OPTION UPDATES: Since we are working from home, and it might be tough to print things out and scan them back in, here are some DIGITAL ADAPTATIONS of your menu options this time--
Current Events Article: Look at the template I gave you (see the bottom of this page!) so that you know what info I'm looking for. You may make a Word doc or Google doc with all of this info to share with me. Please make sure that you include everything I'm asking for - including a link to your article. :)
Root Word Studies: Create a Google Slides presentation. Design a slide for each root. Again- look at your template and make sure that you include all of the info I'm asking for (meaning, sentence, examples, a picture, etc...)
Crossword/Poster/Instagram: I think you guys probably know of more online resources that would allow you to complete these activities digitally than I do. If you have a way to make these online or via computer software at home- go for it! Get creative and give me something #AWESOME. You can share your final digital product with me via Google docs/slides or email. Again- make sure that you look at the menu and double check that your final product includes everything that I'm asking for!
If you have questions about any of this during our "at home" time, please don't hesitate to shoot me an email and reach out. I'm here to help! And, of course, once we return to campus, students may submit any of these assignments into the drawers in the classroom as usual.
Below you will find the policy for science extra credit, as well as the assignment menu. Students may turn in any combination of menu assignments to earn up to 4 points added to their overall average at the end of the 9 weeks. (4 points is the maximum value that will be added to a student's average.) Assignments may be turned in any time between now and May 20th.
Files for menu assignments are at the bottom of this page. Hard copies will also available in the classroom when we return to school. Feel free to email me or talk to me in person if you have any questions!
There is no template for the Vocabulary Crossword or Science Poster. Follow the instructions of the menu to complete these assignments. Be creative! :)
