Fifth graders are learning all about properties of matter for the next few weeks! We will be talking about the different states of matter and their characteristics, as well as how matter changes from one state to another. We will also be learning about density and how to measure it. In class, we will be doing a few lab activities to explore the different properties of matter and how to measure and observe them. We will take some time to review our units of measurement and how to use various science tools to collect our data. Our scientists will be taking lots of notes in their journals and getting a good "workout" for their science brains. Make sure and ask your student to share their knowledge with you at home! As always, vocab for this unit can be found in "Class Docs." I have also uploaded a template for students to use for their homework assignment.
