In 5th grade, we are currently learning about the temperature points of water. We completed notes pages in our science journals about the boiling, freezing, and melting points of water and how it changes from one state to another. We talked about the root word "thermo-" and learned that "thermal energy" is related to heat and temperature. Students also completed a vocabulary assignment with these words before our Outdoor School trip.
After completing our ISN notes, we did a lab to explore the temperature points and characteristics of each. During the lab, we investigated the temperature points of different mystery solutions to determine which solution was pure water.
